Hi , please can you recommend me some where that has a good cross country course to hire in Norfolk (I am in kings Lynn ) ?

I would like some where that has some nice inviting intro fences and water jump to take my youngster round for his first time .. The only place i know of is Black water Farm but they have HT on and cant hire out course for 2 weeks prior to this (I would like to go asap as im on holiday !! ) ..where else would you recommend me ?

Thank you in advance - you are always so helpful !! :)

Afraid I haven't been as I'm a bit of a wimp these days. However was considering staying there last year (before I lost my nerve). It is a UK chaser course, so I would imagine it is quite good.
Also very close to that is Little Lodge Farm, Thetford. They also have a cross country course. It is very basic and there is no water in the water jump, but it is still good fun! And you can always cool down in the nearby river afterwards....
Hope you have fun :)

Thankyou for that - i would never of thought of looking there! It sounds great - i just called them and you dont need to hire just turn up when you want ..il probably get over there next week! Got lots lined up for him ..poor boy is going to be tired :D

we use Elveden quite a bit. Its quite expensive and although the going is generally good, the jumps are often over grown and the take off and landing can be deep (its sandy soil). Lots of the logs were rotten the last time we went but its still a nice flowing course with plenty of things to have a pop over.

How about Lt Downham at Ely EC ? Also good going as its on peat soil.

Elveden looks great ! have you been before? Think il give them a call ..

It's brilliant, but the jumps are not very big. you can go round as many times as you like for the money, good parking, nice cakes in the tea shop. Awful for flies so best in autumn!
Have fun.

Elveden is over priced and not maintained well

Burnham market you can hire ....very nice

And Ely (little downham)

Both of them I'd say as actually BE courses and have lower fences too.....so you know they are maintained and there is a varity of fences

Forest Egde have just built a XC course which can be hired I think. They start tiny and go up is size - not sure what size they go to.

Little Downham (Eley eventing Centre) is good but I can only speak from a 'doing tiny jumps' point of view - didn;t go near the big ones!! But there is water there.

thank you so much for all the suggestions..i didnt realise there where so many by :D Ive done some ringing around and im trying them all :D Got 2 weeks off to play horses as much as i like so going to make the most of it !! First stop is Burnham Market :D Thankyou again x

There are two waters there, including the longest water on an XC course in Europe (I think).
