I have booked the hooligan in for x-rays at the hospital on Tuesday. Following on from the hock issues, we had to bring him off Danilon due to him developing what looked like the early signs of colitis. Next step was to inject his hocks, but I couldn't shake this feeling that there is something going on elsewhere and the hock issues might be connected to that rather than a stand alone cause.

My instinct is telling me that he might have kissing spines, based on a variety of symptoms and various other things.
He is 13, has navicular (under control- sound), arthritis of pasterns and a grass allergy (also under control). He looks absolutely fantastic, vet even commented on how well he looks in himself, so I hope this is an indication that he is not in any pain when out in the field. Even so, if we end up adding kissing spines into the mix, that's a hell of a lot wrong with a horse of just 13 and I have got to be realistic.

So wish us luck for Tuesday. I can't say I'm feeling particularly positive about it. I'm back at the hospital on Friday with the Diva as well, I may as well move in for the week!

I'm beginning to feel like I need a loyalty card with the vets as well! Sending you luck from an owner with a totally retired 13 yo and a 7 yo who seems to be doing her best to join him....

Well I hope he is given a relative all clear, I know there is no such thing with horses, because the more you look the more you find!

Needy, expensive little things aren't they
