Can anyone tell me what happens when you have a horses back x-rayed.
Sol has to have hers x-rayed next week and was wondering if anyone could explain what they have to do from start to finish so you can put my mind at rest

Also has anyone got a ball park figure of how much it cost you ?
(she is insured but m&d are weighing up pros and con's of claiming , but it obviously depends on how much it is

I would imagine she will be sedated and placed maybe in a stall of some sort, with the xray equipment up above

I had this done on a mare of mine last year. Basically she had to walk into an x-ray machine and have umpteen sets of x-rays as they moved along the spine. She had to be doped so that she kept very still whilst they manoevered the machine and took the plates. Cant remember the exact cost, have bills somewhere! but think it was around £200. Not as much as I expected given the number of films, but a complete waste of money as there was nothing to be seen.

I can look out the bills if you want a definite figure in the morning?
