Can anyone recommend hind XC boots for a Welsh Cob? His chestnuts seem rather low down on him, so Im finding usual hind boots go up too high and end up pushing underneath his chestnuts which drives him nuts. I bought Premier Equine ones which are brilliant except I had to take the hind ones off yesterday as he kept bucking and trying to get them off (I believe due to the pressure on his chestnuts irritating him).

I have tried my N.E.W lightweight XC ones on him, but they are like the PE ones and come up too high. Its difficult as he needs the width of the bigger size but not the length. Are there any boots which might suit? I know Thorowgood do "Cob" ones but I dont know how protective they would be for XC??

There are some new Mark Todd brushing boots which seem VERY protective and come in medium and large so perhaps the medium would be good behind for him?! there under £14 a pair so maybe worth looking into!?
