I'm having a real issue with XC boots at the moment. Took horse to a training session about a month ago wearing equilibrium Tri-zone eventing boots and they completely ripped her hind legs to shreds 😢 So much so that her legs were bleeding. Let them heal, bought a new pair of premier equine air-cool boots and the same thing happened! Now not sure what to do, my farrier suggested not wearing anything behind but not sure about that. Thinking of bandaging instead???? Or does anyone recommend a pair of really soft boots which can still offer some protection.

The woof event boots have v soft neoprene inside. .

Or how about fleece lined boots. Brushing boots if you can't get specific event boots. NEW used to do boots with a really thick fleece lining.

Don't bandage out cross country, accident waiting to happen!! My boy is very sensitive, wears sheepskin everything (including his over reach boots) but we have the Eskadron X Country boots all round when xcountry'ing, which have caused no problems this season!

My princess gets rubbed by Everything (head collar left on in field for 3hrs = major drama!)
I have prestige leather xc boots- sounds weird but they don't move AT ALL, I think the key is avoiding friction. She too has sheepskin everything & I was sceptical but so far so good!!!
Find the ones which fit the best

Done correctly its not an accident waiting to happen - boots are reletively new and fancy things for XC as a kid we always used bandages/gamgee, secured with velcro and tape - never had an accident!

I now use the lemeiux XC boots, they fit my mare well and dont slip or rub. i used to have the PE but they didn't suit my horse so kept slipping and twisting
