xc lesson on a riding school horse?!

can you have xc lessons on a riding school horse?
I imagine they would want you to have some lessons first in the school to make sure your not a pleb lol but can you do this?

I went on a xc clinic with a riding school horse, so besically a long lesson. So yes I would say you should be able to find somewhere you could do this. Some RS's have their own xc course, so you could have a search and see if any do that are local to you.
 
Yes I had loads of XC lessons at my old riding school. My instructor would often let us warm up in the school and then head out onto the course for a good hour (they had an xc course on site). We jumped everything apart from water, I fell off many a time but had such a ball!!

Some of my best lessons at the riding school were out on the XC course. We would often do fences one at a time untill we were at the bottom of the course, instructor would walk down on foot. Once we were at the bottom, she let me go back up the course, linking all the fences together, as she walked back, and we would meet back at the top

I go for lessons twice a week, and since my pony isn't jumping much, any XC I do is on a school horse. If you're looking to get confidence back, it seems like a really good way to do it!
