Does anyone know of any good websites or books with dimensions ideas on building XC steps and mounds. We have a V large pile of soil, clay and rubble following arena construction and digging out ditches.

Or failing that for a 2 step bank, how many metres would you make each step if it where to be a bounce and how many for one non jumping/step stride.

Hi,

steps up or down--bounce 2.70m
flat or round top bank--bounce-(3.60m-3.90m)
1 stride- (6.40m-7.20m)

for every extra stride 3.30m-3.90m per stride

these are just a guideline, many factors alter the distance marginaly ie hight of step, type of approach and exit etc.

When im building steps i tend to do the distances on what feels right to me walking them, down hill/uphill will all alter the distance slightly. best thing to do is use the distances above and set out some markers on the ground and see what feels right.

If you check out my facebook group which is in my siggy there are pics of steps ect being built and picks of the retaining wireing etc.

any questions feel free to ask. im not on here that much but will try and keep an eye on this thread or contact me through fb

regards, mark
