Went with another HHO member in her lorry as mine is leaking oil. We had great fun - her doing the Novice size jumps, me doing smaller ones. I had a few wobbles and the "not stopping after the jump" issue came up a few times, but we get that show jumping too.

Great facilities and I am definitely going back, when the oil leak is fixed anyway!

Glad you had fun

I went today too!!
Thought I saw Cullohill but wasnt sure, as I drove in and on her way back from the cross country, I was getting on a chesnut horse (in sig) when walking past the carpet arenas.
Pidge I thought I saw you too! Were you in a group of 4? I was warming up on the cross country as they/you went along the bit after you come out of the woods on the farm ride.

damn it we should have had a mini HHO meet then!
Yes me on big chestnut, sis on hairy cob, Jo on bay TB and Mooch on grey Milly
grin.gif

Where abouts on the XC were you? As there was a lone girl on a chestnut and then a group having a play on the new step complex?

We should, was really busy there today.
I would have been the lone girl on a chestnut

Havnt been xc since august so was great to get out and to test wether he coped being barefoot. Did you have a good time on the farm ride? I have 4 vouchers to use for it and still havnt gone yet!
That group hogged the new steps for most of the time I was there! Managed to have a go right at the end.

Yes we said how busy it was! Ah yes you were jumping one fence as we were goling over the telegraph poles and then turned and went inwards over another one and Pidge got excited as you were cantering and he was like "well she's cantering ehy aren't I"

Didn't know you'd gone barefoot, is that new with him then?
Fab time on the farm ride thanks

even jumping him in my dressage saddle

You've just got to go for a spin round the farm ride, but save your vouchers till they open the summer ride as its a mile longer and lots more fences to jump
grin.gif

You're kidding! I know the young grey was having a good play when we went past but am glad you managed to have a play in the end

Well he started having problems with his feet at the end of august/september last year, he wouldnt jump which is very unlike him so we finished our season early, took his shoes off and chucked him out for 6 weeks. Had someone come and see if he would be suitable for going barefoot so we gave it a go, completely changed his diet and his feet are so much better now! He moves so much better without them but we're probably going to have to put front shoes on before Stafford(possibly light aluminium ones) as he was really sensitive in the water jump as the surface is quite stoney, only managed to trot through once before saying no more.

I do plan on going on the farm ride, just need to get myself organised!

I didnt want to do the new bank complex but mum made me as I hate going up steps and find it really difficult to get my weight forward, always end up getting left behind. Shrimp did help me out quite a few times bless him, but I thought they were quite tricky combinations!

oops sorry I didn't realise it was you

glad you enjoyed yourself, have you been before then or was it your first time?

Yes the water at Stafford is quite stony isn't it! Think me and sis are fence judging again so will keep a look out for you if you are on the same day
grin.gif

see I like going up and down steps and had trouble getting left behind when going up until someone told me to treat each step like a fence and hey presto much better
grin.gif

They were tricky fences on the top of the steps though from what we saw, no way would I be brave enough to tackle them
blush.gif
Pidge would but not with me on top
grin.gif

Ah yes Mooch took the scenic route too thanks to satnav

best to get off at J18 and turn right towards congleton and then right again just after the traffic lights and then its straight down that road. Will you be going again do you think?

We came off at J18, crossed the crossroads, then it took us down some narrow back lanes which popped out on the A54 near to the place. Good thing when we met the tractor/trailer, it was by a passing place!

Definitely going again. Trowell too.

mmm sounds like a different road to us then. Will see if I can show you where we went as its a good road and pretty straightforward

you know i though it was you i half smiled then thought to myself i think thats Flic - sorry didn't say Hi, was great day new complexes too i do love that course. Bud was super amazing and i reckon some fences we jumped were more like Intermediate than Novice

Glad you had a good day too!!
