Can anyone recommend a good place to go XC schooling around the M4 s.wales and bristol areas? I went to Leyland Court yesterday and it was fab but need to go somewhere new for my horse for further schooling. I dont mind having a lesson if this the only option or doing private hire. It must be somewhere with BE style/standard fences though. Thanks

Might be worth trying William Miflin at the Deer Park, Cirencester. Apart from that I think you will have to go down to SL, or across to WW.
I did go XC schooling at severn vale in Chepstow years ago, they have a few tricky fences.
If it's not too far Rosamund Green in Shepton Mallet is great, very compact and a good mixture of fences.

Thanks, yes was thinking of Stockland Lovell but she has been there twice, albeit last year. I'm trying to take her to loads of new places as her problems stem from being somewhere new, which is our problem competing. Once she has jumped everything and been round, she's fine, otherwise she acts like a "green" 4yr old.

Rosamund Green Farm is excellent and would be the first place I take a young horse. It is well worth the trip as you find everything. It is specially designed for schooling which helps as everything close and graduated. Avoid Urchinwood its awful just post and rails - they make no effort updating the course.

Thanks all. Rosamund Green looks fab but probably a little far, what with going round Bristol/M32 etc. Does anyone know where Chedworth is or have a link to it? Or perhaps its called by another name.

There is one at Wickwar which is near Chipping Sodbury -I think its called Castle Farm - they do HTs there and used to hire it out. More of a HT course but has water.
