Morning folks!!!

I had a top w/end, and thought I'd share it....

Arranged to go XC schooling with friend on Saturday to Stilemans - it was the first time I'd ever gone XC with the Bon Monster and with a teeeny tiny hangover, no brekkie and obviously dehydrated, I was totally prepared and in the right frame of mind

!!

Arrived, warmed up, and then attemped first jump - STOP.... b*gger... Friend attempted - flew it. Decided to tuck in behind and flew - did it on our own - flew.... Put together a few fences - all smallish I may add, and good as gold - onto the ditch - STOP! followed friend - flew, did on our own - flew! So, we put together about 12 fences in the small circle which were all about 2-9 / 3ft, and included bank, drop, tyres, water trough, bounce (although we did manage a stride

) and the ditch.. all amazing. Onto water - trotted straight in and loved it. Friend's horse had different ideas, but after 30/40 mins he was cantering in there too - Bonnie lost her over reach boots through suction so not sure what to do in an event??? Then we were rather more abitious and found a novice fence (boob height) and thought we'd try! After Bonnie saying are you serious a few times, we flew it too - then we returned to the smaller fences we started with, just to leave on a good note - which we did! All in all a good day - hot and sweaty though! Plan now to fly around Munstead's jumps mid week...

Sunday - Charity Polo!!! A really lovely hot day, found a picnic patch and ate loads of lovely food and fizzy pop... on came Andrew Gould doing a dressage demo - an amazing black stally who just made it look easy! Then pony club polo which puts us all to shame, then the pro/am celeb polo which was just hysterical!!! It was just 2 against 2 in most cases, with the celebs having 'issues' with thier mounts! One poor guy's horse just decided to casually walk back to the pony lines whilst play was at the other end - nothing was stopping the pony! Poor guy, felt for him really.... Andrew Gould and Dane Rawlins were the dressage peeps on thier team, and were actually quite good with AG going hell for leather in a ride off! You could tell his pony, as he was obvioulsy giving it non polo signals and it kept doing these funny 1/2 spanish leaps

All in all a good w/end - photo's of XC will be posted later - sadly photographer wasn't accurate with my digital camera so there are a few funny ones!

Hope everyone else had good w/ends too!

going to Munstead to school this week, combined training on saturday, and just practice next week.

i'm cr*pping myself I'll get elim in either dressage / jumping or XC or all 3!!!

I was at the Polo watching on Sunday to, lots of fun and such gorgeous weather for lazing around watching others exert themselves! Agree that Andrew Gould's horse was lovely, so beautiful and elegant.
