Hi all, well I took "new boy" and "mad mare" to a UK chasers course today to see how they went. New boy is a superstar!! He was so chilled the whole time, from grooming the mud pack from him, through loading, travelling, unloading and starting around the course what a dude.

As I hadn't taken him to anything before I was a bit wary and so Nice New Sharer (NNS) took mad mare (not mad really) as I knew she was ok across country and would not bolt. Anyway, right from the start new boy was ace and even after I jumped the first fence he came nicely back to hand afterwards and stopped when asked. Mare was a little different and jig jogged quite a bit. We had some nice canters and some more little pops and as he was so good and mare was such a tool we swapped nags. Mare calmed down after that (think she may be a little scared of my wrath) and we jumped a few more. New boy had slight issue with "hairdresser's style" so wobbled a bit but nothing naughty or dangerous and as soon as NNS rode him at it with "grrr" he jumped S.P.E.C.T.A.C.U.L.A.R.L.Y and carried on from there- sunken road, water complex, logs, brushes, drunken post and rails. Could not fault him. I have attached a few pics with the permission of NNS so you can see how honest he is (NNS was a teeny bit unbalanced after one fence and he just carried on).

Thank you! Most of those pics are stills from video, was quite hard to take pics while making mare stand quietly.... I hadn't realised but horse and rider are quite well colour co-ordinated too!
