Was just wondering if I have my stirrups at an ok length when I go xc? These pics were taken a few weeks ago

(Ignore reflective gear, xc course is down the road from the yard)

I would personally be inclined to go 1 possibly 2 holes shorter - but then it's partially personal choice and in the photos you look balanced and with the horses movement plus this also comes form someone who failed their c+ for too shorter stirrups!!!

I also ride about three holes different on different horses because of their jumping style (or lack of it

) so I think it's hard to tell without riding or seeing the horse.

Sorry I'm not much help. x

I think you look OK, you are in a GP saddle, if you go too short your knees will be off the front of the saddle.

I agree. You have to balance support for your knees with stirrup length. I've just swapped my saddle for one with a more open seat, as I couldn't shorten to jumping length in my old saddle.

That said, if you need to go up two holes, then I must need to go up five! Your stirrups look short compared to how I have mine for jumping.

Look not so bad to me. Probably as short as I go, but then I do have short legs.

As long as your are comfy and feel safe, then stay at that length.
