Keysoe will open when the ground dries up (usually March) as its heavy clay.
Ely isnt open yet, as of Sunday it was still too wet but should be open in the next couple of weeks.
I understand Poplar WAS available to a friend of mine this past weekend although she went in a BIG group so if anyone would like to organise a weekend day, we would be happy to meet you there with 2 of our own.
Blackwater farm (aka Gt Withcingham) is normally available all year round and nearly always rides perfectly.
Blackwater if I remember correctly a little but of a nightmare to get to but I agree its a lovely course.
I had been told but someone they were only opening to liveries but I may call them to ask. Even if they opened to public all of march and closed beg April it would have time to rest for trials.
Their web site reads trials 9-10th march 2013 so they haven't updated the website yet.
Blackwater is only closed for a week, sometimes two before the horse trials and these are 22nd - 24th March.
I walked little dog round last night as left work early and it was still light, the ground is drying out well, the wind is still blowing a hooley so should be fine for a practise.
I just spoke to Tina at Ely Eventing Centre. She's opening the course on a day by day basis at the moment so it's vital to check before planning your day out there. She's also had a bit of fun and games with BT and the usual phone numbers won't be working until BT have managed to get their act together! She has got a new mobile to tide her over (07804124280) and asks people text her on that to make bookings and check that the course is open.
There are a couple of XC clinics on 17 and 27 February, they can be booked through the BE website and are open to non-BE members.
