How shocking and ultimately sad.

A post mortem will determine if the dog drowned whilst alive. I hope the perpetrators are brought to justice, I don't like the breed and I am glad they have imposed the ban given the number of XL dog attacks but this is disgusting. What kind of sub human being does such a dreadful thing. That poor, poor dog. WARNING: Link may cause distress.

The breeder had no contact details for the purchasers? Really 🤔

What an awful way to go.
I know. If they had surrendered it to a vets/home or whatever it would have been pts humanely, but I expect that would have left them open to prosecution.
Surely they must have an amnesty for XL dogs? If not maybe the government needs to think about providing one although owners had enough warning to be fair.

This dog could have been neutered, the deadline is in three days time.

Sad to say there has got to be more than one person involved, to lift a crate with an XL in it? It also shows the type of people that are knocking litters out - probably not just XL "breeders" and I use that term loosely.

Although I do not like the breed, I do feel sorry for the dog to not matter enough to the "breeder" to keep correct records and for the a$$holes who found it so easy to do this to a dog. Cost of Living crisis does not come into it, that is just being used as an excuse every time dogs are found dumped.

Reprehensible. I cannot imagine the mindset of a thing that can do this. How do you walk away from that, knowing that an animal is trapped and fighting for its life?

Lurchers were imo the worst treated dogs. Now these poor creatures seem to be taking their place.
I agree.

They've been doing this for centuries with animals, in Victorian times it used to be unwanted kittens in a hessian sack but now it's moved on to XL bullies in a metal cage. Cowardly and cruel but a sad reflection of our times.

Mankind never seems to advance much in terms of empathy does it?

10 years ago my sister took a litter of kittens to RSPCA because her employers were going to drown them. No it doesn't.

You can't help the feeling that a spot of waterboarding, the Guantanamo Bay torture technique, which is actually harmless but tricks the body and mind into reacting as if they are being drowned, would be a good punishment if this person ever gets caught, can you?

The ban is shortly to be rolled out in NI. I've lost count of the number of bully types that have been up for rehoming this past week, with all manner of lies and excuses (moving abroad/changing jobs etc) given for coincidentally wanting rid of them right now.

I hope the rescues are sensible and do the right thing when they're inundated with them. And I hope the current owners don't decide to sort things themselves.

Well, drowning the perpatrators would be a good way to start.

I saw that article and felt physically sick. I detest the breed but the breeders are worse. Sick nasty person.
Yes. My granny used to say "What goes around comes around." A rather obtuse way of saying "Don't worry. They'll get their comeuppance in spades. Give it time."
Over time, I reckon that she was right.
