Xmas pressie to myself - well, sort of!

Have taken the plunge and ordered rubber matting for my stable as a xmas pressie for myself (and horse, obviously). Am VERY excited but wondered how many shavings bales people use on them (my stable is 12x12)? I've got 3 left, am hoping that will do me for a few days...

Love my rubber matting! I have recently changed my horse from straw to shavings and I started off with 7bales, I love a big bed but my stable is 14x14 .. A friend of mine started with 5bales, it depends on how you like your beds really

I used to like a decent sized bed even on rubber matting, but know people that use anythign from a sprinkle of shavings, literally, to a full sized bed. Your choice really but you will get by with three.

I'd pop out a buy a few more! We used about 6 bales to start with a use around 2 per week for topping. But we do like a nice thick bed
