Xmas shopping - Pikeur SJ jacket advice

Having procrastinated for ages, am thinking of taking the plunge and buying a Pikeur Epsom SJ jacket. I was thinking of the Cool Wool - the main reason for buying was I get hot SJ especially when wearing a body protector.
Ive discovered the colour I prefer (grey) only comes in synthetic not in the Cool Wool.
Can anyone tell me if synthetic or cool wool is cooler?
Or if anyone can recommend other makes of jacket which are cool. I dont have the budget for the top end technical fabric jackets, budget is around the £100 mark.

I have a wool Pikeur show jacket for jumping, plus I also have jods and shirts by them. Whilst I don't have the jacket you mention everything I have bought is good quality, does the job I want and I have not regretted buying it. I am not sure if this helps or not.

Am torn between the wool navy or the grey easycare (am told the grey doesn't come in wool - am slightly confused actually by the range of fabrics available)....
