Hi everyone. Just interested in hearing your thoughts on these x rays. Shod ones were remedial shoes that weren't working. Bare ones were taken after first trim. Hoping to keep shoes off but will see. Horse has had ongoing lameness issues for about 18months. She is a 12yo cob x Clyde

Edited because sheep fixed pics for me below :-)

Good decision to remove shoes, and good barefoot trim done, bone alignment much better, and heels building up. Left fore is weaker. Keep on this path, you've done the right thing.

Thanks for the replies. It was actually the vet we did the trim but have a fantastic farrier to look after her from here. The prognosis isn't good but we are trying to relieve her of pain for now. I am clueless looking at those x rays so am grateful for the comments interesting that the left looks weaker as she is lame on both but worse on right! Will post pics of her actual feet when I can. They look so "normal" although that is through my novice eyes

Looks like a big improvement to her heels. Have you tried boots and pads on her to see if she's any sounder in those than bare.

I will be watching replies to this thread with interest.

Looking at the foot pics she has a dip in her coronet band along the quarter line on both feet, and her pastern angle is incredibly steep compared to her hoof, but I couldn't tell you what that means/how it could be solved (if at all)

Hopefully someone more qualified can offer their opinion/help you :)
