xxxw wintec gullet.

Afternoon all.Silly question but i have just got a xxxw gullet but when it came it says only to be used on Wintec wide or Wintec halfinger saddles.Do you think i could put it in my Wintec 500 dressage saddle that has a xw gullet already fitted??.My lad has out grown his xw gullet.Would it damage my saddle??.Thankies.

I did try this on a normal Wintec saddle, the answer is that it will go in, but the wider you open the gullet, the more the flaps are forced back and the saddle is not designed for that to happen. If your saddle is old it might be worth a try, but I wouldn't risk damaging a new one.

Thanks The-Watcher.It is not a new saddle but has only been used five or six times from new!.So maybe not worth risking it untill i can get more fat off the horse.It's abit catch 22.I need to ride him to get the weight off but cannot ride because none of his saddles fit him!.
