Long story short after we went Hunter Trialing a couple mths back he just didn't seem right behind... Got Vet - didnt see anything, even though I would consider myself novice I knew he just didn't feel right... Got consult at equine hospital & the suspected sacroiliac & recommended Bone Scan to see severity... Week before we were due to go he came in from field after rupturing an old scar on his off hind - was a terrible open flesh wound, couldnt be stitched... & took weeks of Poulticing to get it to start to close over.... however once it did enough we turned him out. Yard owner insisted on getting him to see a belgian back specialist who comes over once every 6 wks or so .. we just missed out last mth but got appt today...

So off I went to field to catch him & was so funny, his eyes lit up when he saw lorry ! He so thought we were off to a pony party lol...
Was quite funny waiting to be seen as we were hand grazing next to an international horse & there was me stood with my little dun pony:)
Onto treatment & WOW wasnt for the faint hearted - he had his entire lumber region manipulated back into place & unbeleivable to see how much more level he looked behind post treatment!!!! He seriously had a massive blow out & then a good stretch of hind legs before heading back to the lorry.....
Cant believe we have now been told to bring him back into light work:))))))))) YAY ! Have not sat on him for approx 4mths... The back guy is very hopefully we will get him back to full work but it will take time... Owe my chap so much for getting my confidence up & wasn't going to give up... He was bought to get my confidence up jumping after losing my confidence with my Mare & he totally did the job hense I really owe him:)

Fantastic news.

He's absolutely gorgeous, sooooooo pretty.

I needed some good news to cheer me up and this has done the trick!

Very best wishes to both of you. :)

Thanks so much.. I'd like to think I have done OK with him.. Multiple opinions.. No quick fix. I owe him so much and can't wait to see how things go over the next few mths... :)

Mine had his SI injected yesterday so we are at much the same stage, a long slow rehab although your prognosis is more favourable than mine, vet has said he may be able to hack anything more unlikely but I hope he will be able to get back to jumping it was the only thing he really enjoyed and has so much talent.

We should do a joint progress report and see how they compare.
