Im feeling very unhappy with my yard at the moment, my best friends are leaving (due to no choice) to another yard, which I cant go to as it has no school and I event and dressage so need one.

The owners of the place are rude and I feel like Im aways in the way (event though there are about 30 liveries)! I get made to feel like im comitting murder for putting some hay dust which has fallen out the net on the muck heap!

Not sure I can cope when they leave but any other yards are about 10 further mins away.

Any advice????

I would leave i was in a similar position as u. Yard was perfect but the owner was a nightmare and seemed to have it in for me i could do no right!!! The yard was a 2 min drive from my house.

I moved my horse to another yard that was perfect for both of us and we are very happy there but it is a 20 min drive but i would rather do the extra driving and know both me and my horse are happy than stay where i was.

My advice would be to get out of there. This can't go on - your horses are a happy hobby and not something that should be associated with stress because of the yard politics. Go somewhere else. Make the move.

I go with what everybody else says ..... move off!

There is no point beng stressed when you go down to see your horse as it takes away all the enjoyment. Especially at the start of a long, cold winter, when all those chores get the best of us down, you relly don't need it.

10 mins is nothing if it is a question of being happy or miserable.

I'm with everyone else, move!

Why be unhappy when you can just do an extra 10 minutes traveling and BE HAPPY!!! The longer you remain unhappy, the more your horse will pick up on it, life is too short, make the move and enjoy the new yard. Good luck hun x

You know what who cares about facilities? If you want to achieve your own competition goals you will whether you have a fancy school or not. What is the point of only half enjoying something?

I moved mine from a nice yard to my own field and 2 stables because of b*tches on the yard. I have no school, just a field. But the love is back in it for me, and as a result things seem to really be falling into place for me and my new horse, he's coming on in leaps and bounds at the moment, and I honestly think its because I'm happier, calmer and not always looking over my schoulder wondering what someone is saying about me.

sometimes for the sake of both owner and the horses happiness it is better to go to a yard that has less facilities, but has the horses welfare at heart than to stay at a yard that has everything and who consider owners and their horses a nuissance! Good luck I have been there so I know how you feel.

There is nothing worse than spending money to be somewhere that you feel uncomfortable. I have done that in the past. I do believe that it also rubs off on your horse. When looking for a new yard:There is no perfect yard, and chances are that there may be one person on a yard that you don't gel with (that's just life). But hopefully it wont be nearly as bad as things are for you now.
I would definitely move!
