As many of you kno I need to move yards with my new horse as he is starting to weave and the weaving seems to be getting progressively worse and he can lunge at others in an American barn style arrangement. Having lived out before I got him and being a top level eventer/showjumper before this I feel he is more suited to a quieter yard where he can live out all bar the worst winter weather. Have seen a few yards but am torn between 2:
A:
- Lovely looking yard run by knowledgeable PC instructor who lives on site
- Post and rail turnout to be with her gelding who only comes in during bad weather apparently
- Lovely big stable on offer in non American barn arrangement with window looking out onto ponies in field behind
- Sandschool with showjumps
- Great hacking
B:
- Farm set up which is what he has come from and has been happy in this arrangement
- Stables look a bit old but big enough and would do the job as they only come in when its snowing or extreme!
- He would have to turn out with mares as thats all the farmer has and he was a stallion years ago...
- Great hacking - close to comp venue
- No school but one next door that I could ask to rent
- Very very cheap!
HEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLP!!!!! I wouldn't mind both as I've come from a very quiet field with my loan horse and equally I wouldn't mind a small yard. Any opinions welcomed as I am flummoxed and am eating waaaaay too much chocolate from South Africa whilst trying to weigh up the pros and cons.
