Remember seeing a free-to-use website (or software download) for organising all aspects of horses and yard in the tried&tested in a mag a while ago - but can't remember what it's called and b*ggered if I can find the thing by googling for it (having a bad search day

)

Does anyone use such a website/program? (must be free or very nominal cost)
What are the Pros & Cons of it?

Have found one (called Rendaivu) but definitely not the one I was thinking of.

many thanks

If i use that web address I just get taken to another website where you can register that domain name. same with managemyhorse.co.uk

Hi just to confirm that it is www.manage-my-horse.com

It is for everyone from horse owners to those working with horses in just about any capacity.

It is totally free for anyone to use. Totally safe and backed up, no one but you yourself can access your password protected account. Many, many professionals are using the site to manage their horses and their businesses.

Basically it allows you to register each and every horse, you own or work with (or your business) and store absolutely everything about them (including loads and loads of notes in various categories like lessons and schooling, medical, dental, farriery and many more) in their own personal profile page to build up into an impressive history that you can print out or save at any time.

You can also store all income and expenses per horse, group of horses or business and whilst frightening (at times) this has proved to be the busiest part of the site. Great to help you understand your costs.

If anyone has any questions please don't hesitate to ask me.

That sounds cool

. My phone, where I keep all dates and things, has a habit of losing everything every now and then

.

Just out of nosiness, how is it funded (if that's not too rude a question

no, not at all rude, I do get asked this of course. MMH was a real labour of love. I created and built it at a time when my best friend (livery owner) was in financial trouble and I knew I could help. I built a mini manage my horse in excel and she never looked back. Then I got asked about sharing it to help others and it got me thinking that I could help lots of others. I then set about creating the site that is today. It took me over two years from start to finish. I did everything myself with the exception of putting it online of course, hence why it took so long.

I always wanted it to be a free site so that as many people would benefit as possible and in doing so, especially helping the horses. Sponsorship is paying for the upkeep of the site and are involved every step of the way. They contribute to eMag and our competitions and I will be eternally grateful for their help. I only ever wanted to cover the costs of keeping it running and 'hopefully' pay back the initial investment.

I'd love to mention that Ariat are our latest sponsor and they have a brand new monthly competition with us for a pair of Grasmere boots which I launched today! (win on Monday 9th June)Ariat comp with Manage My Horse.

We now will run two competitions each month and you win the very next day so there is no wait time and all competitions take place on the site so you can really see how many people enter and who wins instantly.

well for instance, I would share basic facts ... if say dodson and horrell asked me what percentage of members used their Sixteen plus mix, what was the average age of those said horses etc.

No personal details given at all so just consolidated statistics to help the industry.
