:) Right ho only 10 days to go and I am still a bit twitchy about the move.

I had a most excellent lesson this morning and if everything else wasnt pants it was enough to make me want to stay. However his lumpiness needs to get out more and in 10 days time he will have his own paddock and I will have a nervous breakdown.

Anyway I have asked OH to service trailer as it hasnt move in yonks I have let shavings man know I am moving so he wont deliver next weeks order to old yard.

Saddlery havent got my new plastic spade in yet (I ordered one specially as my pet spade at current yard is a lovely shade of lilac).

Suddenly I begin to wonder if there isnt something odd about having a pet spade. I could I suppose nick the one from current yard but unfortunately I was brought up proper. I have to admit I had a pet shavings fork as well but some eejit mashed all the prongs. It will be one of the lads as they appear to be able to break the unbreakable.

ha ha, I am rather in love with my spade (purple!), my fork (green, and as I tell anyone who'll listen, it has sentimental value), and my broom (pink!). Oh, and my pink wheelbarrow. Woe betide anyone who touches them without my permission. I got VERY upset recently when my fork repeatedly went a-wandering (lazy people borrowing it to put their muck in the muck trailer and then disappearing with it in their wheelbarrow...) and took to tying my tools to my stable. So I totally understand your need for a lilac spade.

I'm sure once you actually get to the new yard you'll relax and wonder what on earth you've been so worried about! :)

I move yards in 10 days too and am very twitchy too - have lists running through my head that keep me awake at night..

Nothing wrong with a pet spade, perhaps you could offer to replace it and take it with you?

I'm trying to work out how I'm going to move electric fencing that I'm using now but need set up at new place too before I get there - logistical nightmare. Any tips on how to roll up 'used' electric fencing so that I can find the end and use it again....?

Have already worked out my order of transportation: Old boy Chumley is first as he wont care where he is as long as grass, new boy Toby who will freak at everything but hopefully calm down when he clamps eyes on Chumley and then the Shetlands together who will stir up everything on the yard..

I wish us both luck :)
