Yard Owner schooling my horse.....

our yard owner is an excellent teacher and rider.

I asked her to school Ty for me to get a feel for him before she started lessons.

Said that his only problem is going forward and once she gets over that (a few more sessions apparently) she wants to start my lessons.

feel a bit of a failure but at the end of the day if it means we can progress quicker.

still chuffed that I was the first one to jump him though - my back is still aching! haa haa

For the first time since i've had him, I really feel a future for us and lots of fun....hope i dont' jinx myself! x

Don't feel a failure!!

Most people have never even felt a horse that is going forward correctly and so most horses never DO go forward correctly!

You've handed over the reins to someone who is going to crack IMO the biggest foundation block so that you can go onwards and upwards!

I look forward to hearing how you get on (oh and when you get the reins back, be prepared for it to feel TOOO FAST!

Absolutely - don't feel a failure.

I have had Amy schooled by the best I could afford, and it helped the both of us no end. I think more people could take a leaf out of your book quite frankly. Why carry on going on and on doing the same old thing and never getting anywhere??

Totally agree - my boy is on full school livery & the two of us have made huge progress as a result (well huge by my book anyway!)

Failure my ar*e.My god you have come such a long way in such a short time.This is just the beginning for you and Ty.By getting someone else to school your horse for you just means you will get further in a shorter time.
