Yard owners dog peeing on my things

Bit of a rant

Is it unreasonable to not to want dog pee over my trunk in the tack room on a regular basis? Today it was wet again so I raised it again with the YO - I have spoken to her personally about it and tonight I text politely and I got some c@ck and bull story about a visitor to the yards dog doing it - yes so what about the other 20 times?

The other day I had just cleaned it off when I went in my stable to find the dog had ***** in there as well and it has unfortunately a nasty digestive problem. I love dogs generally but her two are constantly barking and can be quite intimidating - she think the sun shines out of their bottoms.

She basically told me off for "blaming" her dog - does she think I am stupid? I pay a lot of money to be there thinking of leaving now.
 
That is really horrible.
I suppose there isn't anywhere you can put your trunk where the dogs can't get to it? And leave your stable door shut?
I really think the YO should understand that that sort of thing is not acceptable. Maybe you should start peeing over their stuff :D
 
Totally unacceptable, think you need another face to face with YO, preferable as soon as one of her dogs have done something again, hold onto dog and ring her to come see.
Then ask her to clean it up and state you will expect her to clean it every time something happens or to sort the dogs out.
Sure she will sort the prob rather than keep cleaning your stuff
 
You can buy spray stuff from garden centres to stop dogs doing their "stuff" on things..... might be worth just paying a couple of quid for that and spraying your stuff with it....
 
Its a difficult one really.
Yes its horrid, I have a similar problem but after Jayes fluiding, using zoflora, flushing with water, Ive had to accept its YO dogs, YO yard and at the end of the day she could just turn round and say tough, if you dont like it then move.
Apart from moving your trunk I cant really suggest what you can do.
 
flirtygirty - electric fencing sounds good :D but prob not practical

Scatty mare - yes have thought about peeing on her stuff or tipping a load of manure over it on more than one occasion. Can't move stuff as tack room really small and shared - yes wil try to remember to shut stable door - before dog has ***** rather than after the horse has bolted :D

Its the attitude that gets me - didn't even say sorry just got the huff about me blaming her little precious. (A not so small German shepard)
 
How annoying...........i feel your pain.
I picked up a slab of straw (the big sq sort) slice an put my hand in a dog s**t. I was not amused :(
Meanwhile in my field my grass has just been cut for hay and its currently drying out - was walking through it today and come across 3 dog s**ts on top of it already - it was cut this morning!!!! people opposite let their dog out to **** in my field.
 
Rebelzmum - Got the spray cleaner and separate odour neutraliser called Get off spray (Nick name FO Spray if you know what I mean :D ) Completely scrubbed everything with it an put on loads of spray and it did work for several months now its started again and I scrubbed it all again but its not working this time.
 
We get this occasionally, I learnt if I had a haynet hanging outside my stable to hang it high! I gave my horse a dog wee-soaked haynet one night without realising...poor horse hadn't touched it and it was only when I got a whiff of it the next day that I realised. I keep my stable door shut if I'm not there, and do not leave my tack box outside my stable on the floor when I go out for a hack. I have to say the two on our yard only seem to do such things if there's more dogs coming on/through the yard as I guess their territorial approach goes up a step. It's foul though. Also I find if people leave lots of hay/haylage lying about on the yard near the bales the dogs seems to do it more so in a way on ours it pays to try and keep stuff swept up and clean though many don't...
 
If you scrub and the use "SO spray" (love that) then I would also put bin liners around the trunk. Tedious but easier to replace them to keep scrubbing off wee... try posting this in the dog forum too as they have great ideas on how to manage dogs!
 
Ooh, i had this with the livery yard i was at for a few months. YOs dog was loose on the yard all the time and seemed to like ****ing in and around my stables. Drove me nuts.

Cant really help as i moved off the yard after only a few months (was only there whilst new fencing was being put up at my rented fields) but you have my sympathy, its disgusting.
 
Can top this ! Past yard managers child caught peeing on my hay bale. Yard manager actually standing watching at the time. I said "thats not very nice is it, would you like
me to come and pee on your breakfast" answer was, oh it is not very much !!!!!!!
 
I have a problem with fellow liveries allowing their dogs to **** everywhere, including in two of my stables. Now, if I find dog ****, I remove it and put it in the stable of the last seen dog owner.

I really don't feel guilty at all!
 
Can't you just buy a tarpaulin and keep your stuff covered? I can't see how else you're going to resolve it other than leaving, so if everything else at the yard is OK, I'd just keep it well covered up and sort it that way.

No just kidding!!

Apart from moving your stuff from pee reach I don't think there is much you can do as annoying as it is :(
