Was wondering if anyone has any particular brands of nail varnish, etc that can survive the harsh on hands climate that is a stable yard? I enjoy wearing some kind of coating because my nails themselves chip sooo easily thanks to being and working outside, so the polish helps make it less visible for school, etc! If nobody knows of any varnish, do you know of anything that hardens your nails enough to stop them chipping at the tips?? Thanks!

I use gelish nails, they last around 2-3 weeks and you have it applied in a salon. It is a gel varnish that hardens under a uv light! I swear by it my nails never chip and the nail is strengthen by the gel so they don't break. I pay £18 every two-three weeks and there's so many different colours and topcoats

I had gelish nails put on and they didn't survive at all. Split on the second day. Gave them one more try from a different salon and they lasted till the third day, but nothing more. Was mighty unimpressed.

The only thing that has worked is full acrylic or gel false nails, but they then limit things such as picking off scabs etc, and end up an expense that I would rather spend on my horse. Plus they destroy my natural nails.

So far I haven't found anything. Avon nail varnish has been the best so far but still chips after three or four days. Hopefully others will have a miracle cure!

I was also going to suggest gel nails, they're fab and *should* last 2-3 weeks. Gelish, Shellac (CND) and Geleration (Jessica) are the most popular ones but other brands do make them too - most salons will do some form of it :)

My rimmel 60 second nail varnish seems to last well but I do put quite a few coats on and re-paint them once every week unless they aren't chipped :)
