A bit of a long shot, but I'm wondering if anyone knows of any yards in the Edenbridge area that do DIY livery or similar arrangement - I have 2 that I am looking for.

I currently have them at a yard near Sevenoaks, which is great however since we have moved house is too far away to reasonably get there and back twice a day around working f/t and an hour commute each way

! I have looked into having assistance at present yard however did not work out due to being let down on occaisons and not being able to rug up at night etc etc. Would love to go part or full livery - but funds wont really allow!!

My only essential requirement is a school that is either flood lit or indoor so I can ride weekday evenings! Any suggestions greatfully received! Thanks in advance

Yards with indoor schools and are very few and far between but you might get one that has lights.

Im in kent but not in the area, we have a beautiful ass DIY yard ( 10 horses and 16 acres and 20x40 sand and rubber arena ) and 2 stables free at the moment- its very very rare for us to have a stable free.

Hope you find what your looking for i dont know of any yards that way so cant help im afriad.

Hi alsxx, I'm in excately the area you are looking for and we have our horses at livery with a floodlit school - I will ask tonight whether there are any vacancies

Other places to try are crippenden (01342 850638) which has an indoor school and lovely hacking... and when I speak to OH at lunch I will ask him whether there is any where else he can think of

go into The Barn in Edenbridge as well, the girls in there are really helpful and may be able to point you in the right direction!!

How about Lockskinners in Chiddingstone? They have a large sandschool but I'm not sure whether its floodlit, I've only ridden in it during the day!!

plus there's a xc course, showjumps & lots of hacking, its a hunting yard so thats available too, and they hold competitions there as well... again I can find out at lunch whether the school has lights...

Thanks for all the suggestions, and thanks icklemadame! I went into the Barn last weekend and they were going to try and ask Jo Cochrane (I think...) and get back to me but not heard anything else yet. They did mention lockskinners as well so will look into that one! If they hold competitions there that sounds great as I dont have my own transport atm plus I would love to get my 4 year old out hunting!

I do really like the yard I'm at its just so far - i feel dead on my feet all week!! Which yard are you at?

I don't know about the livery aspect of Lockskinners but can vouch for the XC course and Hunter Trials there. A definite plus if you don't have to transport your horse

I leave in weald which is a small village outside of sevenoaks towards edenbridge and have my horses on DIY nr chiddingstone! Lockskinners is near us and they have very good facilities and offer good livery! There is always info about it in the local horse mags! there is also a livery yard near weald called 'stidolphs' this has DIY! also there is a good yard in four elms, which has a lovely outdoor school with all weather surface and mirrors etc! not sure what type of livery they do!
