After the yard staff thread, I thought I'd do a straw poll to find out what the hourly rate actually is being paid/received - either from employers or stable staff.
By hourly rate, I mean the starting gross wage without ANY extra's.
Therefore if you work a 50 hour week, then divide your gross (total) salary into 50 etc.

Self employed - what are you charging hourly before you deduct tax, NI, travel and wear & tear etc.

Some staff have horses at livery, or accom or other benefits, I'd like to hope that the employer still does a gross salary (like in the race world) and then deduct taxes, NI & other benefits (horse & accom) from the total.

Pref to hear about regular or freelance staff rather than trainee wages if poss :)

Bear in mind the minimum hourly rate is £6.19 per hour for those aged 21 or over & for those aged 18 - 20 its £4.98 per hour

Poll coming up..........
