There was a yard theft last night near to Market Harborough in Leicestershire.

Thieve(s) ripped off tackroom door, tack locker etc. No tack was stolen (not much was kept at yard anyway) but they made off with a television and dvd player from another secure area of the yard. Also a load of horse steroids were taken but sedalin etc left. A message of apology was scrawled on a table.
They moved it all with a distinctive black and yellow wheelbarrow which is missing.

No horses were touched.

If anyone in the area knows of anything please contact Market Harborough Police via Leics police.

Also intruders were caught on the same yard in the early hours of the morning a couple of weeks ago, and claimed they were fishermen looking for the river. This was reported to the police at the time (but not followed up by the police). So if any other yards have seen these men please contact the police as it may help.

Oh no - is this your yard _charlie_? How odd to leave a message of apology? You'd think if they were so sorry they'd just pack up and leave without taking anything!

Is the stuff covered on insurance?

No, it's not my yard, but a friend's. I would assume insurance will cover but the police said they sometimes get oddities that leave messages of apology.

It was a 1 person job, no vehicles involved (hence the wheel barrow) looking for drugs & electrical equipment rather than horsey stuff. An attempt was made at breaking into the neighbours (unsuccessful).

I don't think the exact location of the yard is important, surely everyone in the area should be on alert? I think to say Market harborough is specific enough... Another yard 10 miles away (kettering) had their gate padlock cut the same night (luckily the YO foiled the thieves).
