As the title really. Can anyone tell me which feed companies provide a weigh in service at your yard.

If you are in the Suss/Kent there is a woman who comes around called 'The Horsebox Spa' who has a weigh bridge and does sheath cleaning etc. She's very good, coming out to us next weekend as it happens.

None - someone tried to organise it last year in my area and between about 6 yards just didn't get enough takers. I think it was the enforced sitting and listening to their spiel and a very, very tight turnaround for getting on and off the weighbridge that put people off. I think they had to get 15-20 signed up to come out.
I use an independent nutritionist - covers the South East - who only asks for 5 signed up to book a slot. She's coming out to us mid--September.

Dengie have been coming to our yard for a few years now and they did a camp for our riding club too.
No cost and the first time she sees people she gave out a dengie voucher.

There's been a few at our yard, Spillers, Saracens, Top Spec, Dengie. Minimum varies between 5 and 10. It's a big enough yard that's there's enough takers and if a couple only want to weigh some are genuinely interested in the advice.

We have just had our vets out to do it, they also weighed horses not registered with them but wouldn't give advice to them.

We’ve had spillers to our yard twice.
They need 10+ horses to come. You get a £5 off voucher, a chat about what you’re feeding and what they’d recommend (I feed their balancer as it happens), but they’re not pushy.

We used Allen & Page. We had the horses on fast fibre anyway but the service was v good

Saracens come to my yard, but they refuse to weigh if you're not currently feeding or planning to switch to Saracens.
Which is all well and good, totally understandable, but when you're the only one not feeding *visiting company*, it makes getting an independent consultant out to weigh one pony a nightmare.
At least Topspec were kind enough to allow me to pop pony on the scales and off again, all of 20 seconds, when I asked them politely and explained my dilemma, making it clear if they couldn't/wouldn't then that was completely fine and understandable.

I've been to topspec weigh ins at a few clinics and there is also northeast weighbridge who has a very good reputation

Top spec came to a riding club day and were great. No pressure to use their feed.
We also have a lovely egg count person who does yard visits with mobile scales and was very patient with my boy (scales are scary apparently!).

Saracens are missing a trick should just charge £20 a go for non feed clients to use weighbridge.

TopSpec came to my yard last year. Think there were 8-10 of us, it was FOC and the rep advised us on what (TopSpec) feed to use. No hard sell though and she gave some good advice.

Top Spec came out to my yard a weighed some of the horses and gave us very good advice for all of the ponies. (and free minty treats).

I just ask the vets to weigh them whenever we’re there and make sure I weigh tape the same day so I have a rough idea of the difference between scales and tape.

That wasn't my experience of Top Spec at a horse camp. They were very hard sell pressuring me to change even though I told them my horse was fussy and finally happy and sent follow up emails too.
They also weighed a lot heavier than the ones at the vets.

Dengie come to our yard a couple of times a year. In fact they are coming today. I won't be there for the weigh in but I've told my boy to breathe in and stand on three legs

We've used Allen & Page and Spillers before now.
The trouble is, I get a little cynical when they recommend literally every horse on the yard is put on feed balancer at £35 a sack.
Our reps are good in so much they are friendly and understand the science, but they won't have it that there are other feeds out there that do an equal job.
Of course the free vouchers encourage you to buy the feed balancer, but when you run out of vouchers and have to face the real price its a dilemma
