Friend who is moving to devon is trying to find a yard and is having real problems so thought I would ask you lot on their behalf.

They have 4 horses hence the real problem! can be diy or part (location dependant), needs some form of school and hacking and year round grazing (but not neccessarily 24/7!) . Open to any ideas (even private yards!) in easyish reach of J30-J26 of the M5. Even house + stables considered as house not finalised either!

she is getting a bit desperate now as lots of places that will take 2 but none yet for 4 even though the 2 oldies could go on grass livery if available at same place!

Thanks

Katie

Oh, sorry, I thought EVERYONE new who the Cheffings were

They live close to the A361 and not far from J27. Mother was my BHS examiner and son events, Tim Cheffings. They breed horses from a De Beers stallion, I believe.
I'll do a bit more digging.

The Cheffings are at Downe Farm, Witheridge near Tiverton. They run a livery and competition yard. Another yard in a similar location is Witheridge Moor Farm - they have a website.

Don't know if you've been in touch with S yet but she also has the holiday cottage which might do them nicely as a stop gap. Prob booked for easter hols, but worth asking. Don't know if you should mention me, I said I'd invite her to the wedding and forgot to send an invite

I used to keep Shadow there. The have one indoor 25 x 50m and one outdoor 30 x 70 meter and all year turnout in pairs/individual so its ok and the stables are huge 14 x 14 boxes but there are A LOT of horses there so a bit of a fight to use the schools.... (about 50 liveries) anyway its 10 min form J29 Hitts Barton Riding Stables. Clyst St Lawrence, Nr Exeter. 01404 822 335

oww thanks for that will pass that one on sounds a good possibility...

Housemate saids she knows about Hitts but last time she went to look was about 6 years ago and wasn't 'that' great so she stabled elsewhere, I've never been as said. Has it changed much since then? Mate is going to ring them tomorrow either way as one of best suggestions so far!

Keep them suggestions coming though

I have looked around Hitts Barton before with a friend when she was moving her horse - not my sort of place to be honest. Got the impression that it was really bitchy there, and the outdoor was in crap condition. state of the turnout was a bit ropey too.

(saying that - i went there for about 15 mins - can't really guage a place in that time and if she is desparate, then its always worth a look!!)
