Yards near Hitchin, Stevenage, Whitwell, Kimpton areas

Can anyone suggest any nice yards in these areas please? I'd need assisted DIY, a school with a decent surface, proper fencing and ideally off-road hacking.

I'd really like a friendly small yard and outside stable, but I think I probably have no chance of finding that! I'm happy to travel about 20 minutes from Hitchin.

The yards I already know of are Chesfield, Lodge Farm, Dog Kennel Farm, Church Farm, New Wright's Farm, Ickleford Riding School, the yard at the tea rooms, a couple in Barton and The Node.

Welwyn equestrian, Linces... Maybe too far away? But in the 20 mins guidelines. be wary of the holt at Kimpton lots of changes in flight. And check out holiday charges - otherwise v nice yard. Frogmore, and Stagenhoe Bottom... Where the chickens are... Lovely people great facilities and run unaffiliated dressage every month... I need full livery, otherwise would be very high on my list

Thank you. Yes, Stagenhoe is on the top of my list and I'm on their waiting list but they have a very low turnover so I think I'll be lucky if one comes up before Autumn (been on the list about a year so far). Linces is probably doable, so I will ask to go on their waiting list too. I've never looked at the Holt personally, but I think from what friends who have been there have said it is possibly too big/busy for my horse. At this rate I'll have to move house to find somewhere!
