yards on the surrey/ hampshire boarder that will stable stallions?

without airing my dirty laundry as such im now looking to move Taz and Rio as i do not feel they are safe at my current yard :(

as much as i love it i dont feel comfortable keeping my horses there anymore so im looking to move...

basically im open to most things

DIY or Part Livery possibly grass for taz but rio needs a stable
i can fence the paddocks myself
school isnt essential but would be nice
large enough stables for a 17.2hh
can have a mixed herd for Taz as hes good with other horses but Rio needs individual turnout
all year turnout
good hacking
i will rent my own yard if needs be
i like quiet yards but a more busy yard wouldnt bother me
Preferably within 10miles of aldershot but if not i will need assisted DIY for morning turnout

Rio is a very well behaved stallion, shows no interest in mares and has never covered a mare so doesnt get all silly either. he respects fencing and is happy to be in fields next to other geldings but obviously mares arent a good idea when they are in season!

any ideas welcome i just need to find a new place for the horses!

am i looking for the impossible as people seem to see stallion and run off in the opposite direction screaming :o

unfortunatly google searches dont come up with "yards that take stallions" ;)
 
Im a bit further into surrey than you (near woking) so any that i could reccomend round here would probably be too far. What i did when looking for yards for Res was to just find out all the yards in your area using google, tack shops, word of mouth etc, and then just ring them up one by one asking them outright if they had the facilities, i was suprised how many didn't say no right away, especially if he's well behaved and hasnt covered. Very simple method i know but worked for me :D
 
thank you :) will start doing that now :) im quite willing to go further out if they can take both of them and can turn out out for me in the morning as i start work at 5:30 some mornings and i would have to walk there.... i would have to start walking at 2am to get there :o but im happy to have them both on part livery :) i can fence it all my self and im even happy to have them both in the same field and just fence between them (i have tons of fencing!) but i dont even think he knows what hes supposed to do with a mare :o and hes super friendly with other horses (without being weird). we posted an advert in snack and tack today and picked up 3 numbers just have to give them a ring :)
 
Also just to add i would ensure good quality fencing was a priority, as in post and rail and preferably with added electric tape aswell. Res didnt know what mares were either until recently, theyre kept very isolated in spain and treated quite harshly a lot of the time, even a foot out of line and they know about it! Dont get me wrong, res is still a good boy and knows his bounderies, BUT he has got more hormonal than when i first got him and does sometimes try it on. Not saying you dont have the knoweldge and experience to cope as sounds like your doing fab so far, just make sure if he's on part livery the people looking after him are equally clued up, as being that he is only young you could find he doesnt stay this sweet and naive forever!
 
unfortunatly i know the manager of willow farm quite well and barge pole comes to my mind... nothing against the yard though i have never been there :) thats the only problem with moving is how many idiots i will come across... i have noticed just being on a yard with myself and one other person she brings a lot of people over and its like show and tell... they kept feeding him over the door so he was getting nippy so i had to tell her to cut it out as i dont like them being fed by hand but i dont what any old person handling him as, as soon as he feels your nervous he takes advantage and he can be a handful when hes excited and he may not always be oblivious to mares like he is now :o

The yard in the advert above has also been taken over now by new people, they have spaces and are bringing their own stallion there, so are experienced in dealing with them, this is their website, try them.
I live in North Camp and it only takes me between 10 - 15 mins to get there.
