What is your yard 'must'?

I think mine is turn out all year round

For me running water and electric, everything else is a bonus.
I am lucky where we are that we have an arena to ride in and a play pen should they have to stay in.

My "must have" is safe, year round turn out. Not really bothered about other facilities as long as I have access to them locally if needed. Luckily I have a good stable and excellent grazing, and loads of fields to ride in all year round

All year turnout also. Ours also had running water and electricity in every stable and also a lovely sand/rubber arena. The barns (american style) are lovely and airy and not dusty at it.

yep decent sized boxes turnout and water and electricity hate mucking out in the dark and ferrying water buckets everywhere.
place to keep all my stuff a bonus.

Same here good all year round turnout otherwise my horse turns into a complete nutter and also a surface otherwise I wouldn't be able to ride mon- fri for 6 months of the year!

ours are all full turn out do have running water (no electric and we have to build our own shelters) although there is a massive fault in the water system as I am at the bottom and anyone further up doesnt get water if I have it on...............

Turn out all year round - with friends in the field to play with.
Good quality hay - dont care how much it costs as have been at yards with free hay - and i would not have fed it to the cattle !

Lol - I just left a place with all year turnout in individual paddocks (where in reality the horses have been out for a total of five days in the last 6 weeks) Good stables, floodlit school, great hacking........

...and moved to a 20 acre field, with no running water, electricity, stables, school etc and we couldn't be happier!!!

So I can definitely say my must is proper 24/7 365 turnout within a herd situation.....absolutely anything else is a bonus I can manage without

The main things for me have to be good sized stables, daily turnout with enough grazing, a school or atleast a dedicated level area to ride in and the yard must accept straw as a bedding as mine can't be on anything else. Anything else is a bonus
