Yay, still on cloud nine. Long story story had a confidence bashing jumping my youngster last yr. And the thoughts of even jumping a 30cms crosspole would have me breaking out in a sweat. ( pathetic I know ) We spent past few mths perfecting schooling on the flat and am a million percent confident in that.
However my goal is to event, my mare oozes potential and I want to match that. So past few wks we have popped the odd fence and today had a full proper jumping lesson , mix of crosspoles and straights about 60/70 cms so not huge BUT big enough for me lol.
We did tons of single fences, doubles, combinations and even a couple of skinnies. I had total control over a small course at the end for the first time ever! ( she used to tank into everything or always jump on a long one, or at times jump the Wings! ) we hit everything on a right stride today and boy did my mare earn her treats tonight. I was confident and didn't back out of any of the fences for the first time in a very long time!
Based on tonight we are going out next wk to a training show, only 70 cms but a massive achievement as really pushed myself out of my comfort zone today and it's made my confidence grow so so much.

Sorry no pics, will get some tomoro

Bailey's hot chocolate on offer for anyone who makes it through my pointless ramble:)

Brilliant, well done! My instructor always says the height is not the point, it's the technique, and you've obviously got that! Don't feel pushed into going too much higher too quickly, make sure it stays fun for both of you!

Will be sticking to 70's for the foreseeable future. Want to get things right, sad though as I jumped consistently at 1m plus as a teenager:( but my mare is young and I'm nervous so want to get it consistently right at a low height.

Also I admitted I needed help with my mare and 6 wks of my instructor schooling my mare over fences has really helped, I today could just focus on my position etc ... Best decision ever.
