for the first time in 7 months, my pony actually walked along one of our canter tracks today! back in september, i downgraded his bit for a few weeks, and he promptly tanked off with me. and i've been working on getting the control back ever since then (and building my confidence and trust up again). the last 2 times i'd gone along this track, there were no tantrums or rearing and i'd got a trot in before cantering. today there was a dog walker slightly ahead of us, leaving us no option than to walk anyway. he tried it on momentarily, by jogging sideways, but once he realised it was a no go, he settled into walk and didn't hve any tantrums whatsoever!!!!
hoping things stay like this as i've been avoiding a large area of lovely hacking country and its been limiting. we'll get there in the end!
