YAY!!!! I rode my beloved boy tonight...1st time in over a year!!

Feeling quite emotional about it but overcame my nerves and rode my big lad Taz tonight.

Didn't have an awful lot of choice as saddle fitter from Stirlingshire came out to fit a new saddle for him as he has changed shape so much. He last got fitted in Feb 2007 when he was just off racecourse so was ultra skinny. But hasn't been ridden a lot since August 2007 when I had my bad accident on him.

Saddle fitter was brill !!! She encouraged me to get on and I even managed to trot him and he was such a bloody star!! He was so good and I never got worried at any point despite him having 3 saddle changes.

Thanks go to my wee girl who has restored my confidence enough to get back on Taz but he was unbelievable. He immediately went into a natural outline and was bending and acting like a total dressage star!!

Never thought I would get back on him any time soon but over the moon with the man. He looked after his mummy!!!!!!!!! Brought a tear to my eye!!

Was starting to think the gods were against it as at the time the thunder was horrendous and there were a few flashes of lightning but my boy stayed cool !!!

Yes, Ellies_mum2, think now that I've got over the hardest part of actually getting back on then I should now keep it up.

He's a bit of a blank canvas now as he's had nearly 3 years out of racing and nearly 2 of those doing what he bloody likes out in the field. Don't know what he's been reading in his spare time but his outline was fantastic!!!!

Think now that he has new saddle that won't pinch him, he'll be a happier boy to ride too. Did think he was smiling when I put him back out to the field as think he was just glad to be doing something exciting again!
