This year I'm intending to put in a surface but need to do it on the cheap and have been advised that as the drainage on our field is usually good we won't need to put in special drains provided we choose a dry part.

Given that we now have several lakes and other "water features" on the field, if I go and mark the arena out now on a dry bit (well when it's stopped raining) we can be virtually guaranteed that we will never be waterlogged!

Sorry - that's the best I can do for cheerfulness in the face of rain so heavy I can't see the fence on the other side of a two acre field!

Talk about every cloud has a silver lining!! Can i ask if you've had any quotes etc for a surface and what type you are considering, as this too is something i'm thinking about?

Thank you!

Thats pretty much how come I can ride in any amount of rain!
Downside is that we only need about 1.5 inches more o rain until the exceedingly large pit at the end of our field overflows
