Just passing through...
Well, after yesterday's fun 'n' games, most of me is back in working order
. Most importantyly Dizz is chilled out and happy bunny - let her go this morning and she and Little Lass went to go meet new neds
. Dizz's bum went down (fast, tight turn), but if the rather nice elevated trot was anything to go by she was fine lol
.
Did the big bit of the move today - was damn hard work, and I have to say ISHY was an absolute star!
My left arm isn't working properly (can't straighten it, or bend it up to my head, can't carry anything). ISHY has worked like a Trojan - carrying horribly heavy things, rolling rubber mats(!), putting up with a zillion questions etc. from various children. I've promised that next time she comes, we go shopping, and drink coffee and eat cakies, and go shopping, and eat cakies, etc. lol. She was great with the horses, handling Dizz for me. I have to say the lorry journey was one I for one won't forget in a hurry roflao.
.
The fall yesterday was definately different! One minute we were ok, the next Dizz's head suddenly wasn't in front of me - nothing was in front of me! I had a second of thinking "Oh no! My beaustiful horse!" Damaged knees sprang to mind at the very least
. Then I heard her feet scrabbling for a hold, but we were already on the way down. I had long enough to think to get my left leg away from her. I landed on my side (on top of my elbow), then onto my back - felt the body protector take a couple of bashes. Lay down and thought of staying put for a while, say a week or two, then the Pony Club voice in my head said "Nothing broken. Get up!".
Friend was a star. Dizzy stood by me once she got up - she'd rolled off my foot (I have a wicked bruise under my toe! Weird). Friend took charge and made sure I knew which day of the week it was lol. I tried to get back on (once Dizz was trotted up sound), but arm couldn't take the strain lol. A lady across the road saw us, and brought round her mounting block! We all trolled back up and on our way
. The Dizz was still powering on! Daft mare
. When we got to the yard, I couldn't get off
. I couldn't figure out how to do it without either using my left arm, leaning on it, or bashing it
Hubby came and practically lifted me off
(nearly needed him later when I couldn't get out of the bath lol). Hubby has been brilliant, horses aren't his thing at all, but he's helped move all our stuff so many times! Friend's hubby also helped with all the heavy stuff (of which there is a lot!).
An altogether eventful week, and it's not over yet!
Lol, it's taken half an hour to write this
