Don't know if anyone remembers something i posted a while back about my extremely nappy, rearing gelding? Anyway, he would rear like a mad thing everytime i tried to get him in an arena on his own or hacking alone.
Everybody suggested that i should just sell him, and i agreed and tried to, but no one wants a problem horse in the winter!

But after jumping him 4ft last week (yay!), riding him lead file on a hack and taking him to a training show tonight, getting a double clear and coming 4th (when usually i would be lucky to even get into the arena!) i just love him and think i'll keep him afterall!
I love him, i love him, i love him

I'm just so glad i persevered with him and didn't sell him afterall!

yeah i know! this has just been his best week ever! and no doubt he'll do something to annoy me sooner or later, but at least now i know we're getting somewhere and he could change

lucybruckner - a friend rode him a month or so ago at a training show and basically used a lot of whip! anyhow, my boy went like a little angel for him!
so i decided to do this too, even tho i felt mean hitting him, but i only had to do it a couple of times and he went! better than letting him get really excited and more dangerous :P

i've been spending a lot of time getting him used to going alone as well, like just walking up the road and round the yard in hand, to give himm confidence. i now ride a lot more positively and he takes confidence out of that too!

thanks again everyone
