I have a yearling that I think needs his teeth checked - I'm not really sure what's up with him. Very low in himself and swollen round his throat which he rub on anything he can. I can't see anything else that he could be suffering from - unless its the weather! His eating - but looks tucked up.*
Do you think he could be suffering from teeth issue? I've tried to look in his mouth myself but I don't now what I'm looking at :) *
Few month back I found a baby tooth in his field that I assume was his.*

All ideas welcome.

Could swelling around throat be a potential sign of strangles? Don't want to cause concern for no reason but best be safe than sorry :)

I don't think it's strangles (I really hope it not), he doesn't have a temp and no discharge from the nose. His throat is not overly swollen or no big lump - its more glands.

Could it be grass glands? These come up when they eat large quantities of poor grass or smaller quantities of good rich grazing. Some times with youngsters I beleive their caps don't come off their teeth and have to be taken off, but not sure what age that is.

Thanks Applecart that make sense.
Vet is coming tomorrow to give him a once over.
Swollen throat has moved and now the gland down his neck is inflammed.
