Well it was a long time coming but I finally managed to get my lad into the school today! Had to make do with lunging for a while but I made a plan to get on today and I stuck to it! Felt quite nervous as it was my first time on for quite a while (bad me!) so for the first wee while after I got up I was sitting in a not particularly nice looking slightly defensive position and let him walk around the school while he did his best giraffe impression  a couple of laps and changes of rein he was listening well and we managed to get a good steady walk although he did seem to take offense to the letter K for some reason  but with a bit of help from my leg we managed to conquer the scary letter with only a small fight about it  Did some circles on right rein and some funny looking polygons on left  so will need to work on our bending! Walk to halt transitions seemed to get better and quicker the more we went round, and after a few goes at it we managed to walk from C to A/ A to C in a straight line!:D I really have to work on keeping my thumbs on top though, it's one of my naughty habits! All in all I think our first ride together - in what seems like forever! - went pretty well, hoping to get on again tomorrow depending on how much time I have but I should be able to squeeze in a wee half hour lesson.
Sorry for the epic post but I was just feeling relieved that all went without a hitch and quite chuffed that my boy was good :D Coffee and cake for anyone who managed to read this without falling into a coma!:D xXx

Yeah me too, I'm so glad there were no major hiccups and I'm really going to enjoy just being able to get on now I have a bit more time and the weather is permitting, planning on booking some proper lessons too so we can get some proper work/progress on the go but I bought a few books recently that have given me a few ideas on how to keep him interested and that will help my riding and will hopefully get us working properly rather than just bimbling around the school :D
