Yellow crusty scabs on both my horse and pony??

Hi!

I can not work out what this is!! A fungus or maybe mites???
My big boy has,In sweat spots and under chin!
Yellow scabby hard on hair folical!


Have been using the iodine wash??? But also has been stamping his legs lots, I thought due to flys but know I am not sure!!
He is I'd x we live in France and the weather as been amazing!

He got them last year and the vet thought it was ringworm!! Wrong!
Look like rainscold but no rain!!

It is usually a low grade bacterial infection/dermatitis.

I have found sudocreme with sulphur powder mixed in works best for us and keeping him clipped and washing off well with small amount of rinse free shampoo when required.
Re. the stamping it might be worth checking for mites as well?
 
Could it be rain scald/ mud fever type problem. My horse has had terrible mud fever which started in August however his field/the weather was dry as a bone. I made a hash of treating it by washing in hibiscub then putting lotions and potions on it, I hadn't realised this could not only spread it but that it needs to be kept dry. We ended up with weeping wet sores and yellow and crusty scabs. Pastern was swollen it was a mess.

Vet came out and took some of the scabs off to be tested and we had 5 days of antibiotics, It's 90% better but still one small wet sore. Vet is going to give me some cream tomorrow sudamcrem mixed with antibiotics.

Can you get Nizerol shampoo in France, usually you can buy it from a chemist. If not try online.

Dilute with hand hot water, lather up well covering well beyond the visible affected area.
