I've been horse hunting since spring time, for the most part very unsuccessfully and haven't been able to put into words what I want/like.
My job situation has changed and I've done a few days at a local dealers yard and ridden various different horses as a result. I had been thinking it was me and I just couldn't ride but I now know thats not the case, just that my riding style suits some types and not others (got an electric bum, lol)
So I spoke to the YO yesterday as I dont know how to describe the horses I like, which was where I was having issues with looking at horses. The ones I like aren't lazy/backward but need to be ridden forwards as opposed to forwards horses that still need leg on but in a different way. The ones i've liked have all been sports horse or Connie x tb or id x tb, nothing pony like and all quite short coupled and settled in their stride/way of going.
I just feel so relieved that I'm not a total idiot and can now put into words what I'm looking for! The downside is that what I'd like is more than likely going to be hard/impossible to find on my budget so there will be compromises to be made which I already knew but was struggling to do but feel much more focussed now.
Sorry, pointless post but had to share!
