Two horses killed by a drink driver - both riders injured - one seriously - a two year driving ban and a £900 fine. Pathetic. What is the British Criminal Justice system coming to?

What a disgrace!!

Why can't we have something similar to the US system? Watching the various Animal Cop programs these people get put before a judge and end up in prison for years! I know that they have a problem with animal cruelty and the same driving offences, but at least they are SEEN to PUNISH.

i have followed this all the way and felt sick when read what was given - ok 2 horses died yes and please ffs thats so horrific - but could have been 2 ppl - mothers fathers with children friends - WHEN will this stop. 2 year ban!!!! how do you rate horse and human life !!!!!

Sounds like someone's been googling!! LOL!! I wanted to put the same thing, but didn't dare....

A driver over the limit, that in itself is a driving offence.
Causing this horrific "accident" whilst he was already breaking the law does not seem to be reflected in the sentence IMO.
