OK, situation is, horse leans, does bucking bronco impression, bearly missing trees and then tanks off.

Only does it hacking, in the school he is a dream but HEAVILY leans.

When he bucks, it is VERY hard to get his head up.

Would a waterford Gag type with couplings help ?

He is currently in a Neu Schule, Comfy Contact Snaffle, brill in school, but not enough hacking. Oh and I would rather not have loose ring as it pinches his mouth and bit guards are difficult to use on him as he always ends up eating them until I hook them out of his mouth when tacking up. But will use guards if no other choice.

Any ideas ? he is well schooled, just a bit full of himself hacking.

i wouldnt like to suggest any bit that is likely to use poll pressure seeing that your horse tends to lean. maybe something with a curb. i will have a think for you

i would have thought a waterford of any type cheek piece, i think that that type of mouthpiece should stop the leaning

Also American gags are good for bringing the head up.

dont worry im totally useless with two reins - too much knitting in my opinion!!!!!!

erm well i tend to use a single rein but if you find you are getting too much leverage just use roundings/couplings

id probably start with roundings and then if that isnt enough use a single rein

and make sure you have the bit high enough in the horses mouth im always getting told by pros to whack the bit up an extra whole or two otherwise the leverage never actually comes into action!!
