I have just rung up about this, as its one of the few in my price range that has a newish chassis. Living is basic which is fine as I never go on long journeys or stay overninght. The trader is Dean somehting (didnt catch second name) and he used to make horseboxes for someone called Nick Channor (I think). Slightly concerned that chassis is not warranted, but as he is a dealer there would be a warranty implicit if there was a major fault I think? Any advice? I have been mostly looking at Iveco's. How do the leylands compare?

Just check the build quality carefully - can't see how they can do it for that price without cutting some corners. I am also in the MAN camp I am afraid!

This is an old Chassis Cab so get a commercial vehicle mechanic to check the Chassis Cab. Also make sure that the cab can be tilted fully forward as if it can not they are a nightmare to service even if the have put in a service hatch in the floor of the cab. Check that the floor is two layered to ensure it is strong enough.

Thanks for all the helpful hints. I haven't seen any small MAN lorries advertised but will keep a look out. Re cab, I thought 2001 was really quite new for a lorry chassis? Also I have not seen many that have a tilt cab, is this particularly important in a DAF. Oh it's such a minefiled
