A bit belated but on Friday, took the new one to do our 3rd Intro. It was blistering hot and I was worn out before I started. Arrived with plenty of time but then was rushing as I couldnt get one stud in, so eventually had to abandon mission and go without.
Then, couldnt get on him, its not easy on your own with a green 5 year old but the next but one lorry lent me a mounting block but not a spare pair of hands to hold the beastie, so nearly came straight off the otherside as he took off

Met Siennamum at the dr warm up, which was nice to see a friendly face. Warmed up to the usual array of squeals and bucks, so wasnt expecting a lot from him but I have been really working on the dressage at home, so was determined to do better than my previous 40+ scores. He was working nicely round the arena and just as I went in he got attacked by some flies which meant he was a bit unsettled but he managed to contain himself to just one buck in one of the canters. We scored 35.8 and the nicest thing was that the only 8 I scored was for my riding

I've been having a confidence crisis recently with my riding so this was just the boast I needed.
Onto the SJ, note to self to warm him up for the dressage in the SJ warm up next time, he really was moving forward nicely

It was probably one of the best SJing rounds we've done so far together, we only arrived on 'long ones' at the last 2 and we had a lovely clear. I was chuffed to bits with him.
Finally, the XC which I thought was quite tough for an Intro. There were 3 fences with alternatives and 5 fences with A and B elements. I knew he'd be sticky at the water (fence 5), so decided to approach the log just before it at an angle in the hope that he wouldnt catch sight of the water in the last couple of strides and slam the brakes on. Well he did spot the water behind the log in the last couple of strides, and went to duck out to the right, luckily he's not very forward thinking at the mo, so I had time to re-direct him and we jumped the log from a standstill

Bless him, I knew he had scope when I bought him and arrived home turned him out in the menage, where he proceeded to jump out over a 5 bar gate, from a walk, with me standing at the other end of it.
Anyway, so we had loads of time faults, as he had to come down to a trot in places, he's so green, looking at everything and everybody but we ended up with another double clear. Very pleased but need to find a way of activating the engine, as I was absolutely pooped at the end. Some hunting I think over the winter might be the answer

Nice to have met you Siennamum and he did go on the lorry no probs at the end

I nearly missed your report I can't believe it!!
Wondered how you got on, that's a great report. It was a really nice event as usual wasn't it, though I've never known it so busy there, can't believe the lorry park.
We slunk off with our tail between our legs, after a diabolical dressage, than we had a disaster in the SJ, when Deri flatly refused to go near fence 3

Naughty girl, Did buy a nice new bridle for pony so not a total disaster!
I shall come out and play on Sienna next year so shall see you there - although I imagine there'll be lots on at W&W which we'll go to, especially the eventers days.
Great to meet you and how funny we used to live just down the road....
Well done you must be well pleased, thought a couple of the XC fences were a bit beefy, spoke to a few people who thought the same, just a shame Sarah didn't get to have a go........

Oh what a shame she didnt get to go XC. I thought Fence 3 was a bit mean,as it was just inviting horses to be nappy back to the collecting ring. I always think that SJ arena is tricky as the horses can see the others on the XC. My grey mare had a right old hissy fit in there one day as someone zoomed past on the XC, luckily it was before the bell rang to start

If it wasnt for the £15 hit crossing the bridge, I'd come to WW through the winter, as its dead easy and quick for me to get to. Glad to hear you'll be back out with Sienna next year, is she in foal this year?

Sienna isn't in foal but is so fat she seriously could be!!
She's done so little this year she might as well have been in foal, though I am now doing fun rides on her
