My mare got caught by a colt last october and i had her jabbed by the vet to termanate any pregnancy. All was well and i forgot about it - thinking the injection is normally effective, untill i realized the other day that i couldn't remember if she has had any seasons?! my TB has come into season alot and normally they come in together. Mare has been very sluggish and hard to get fit and after a lengthy discussion with my vet am now realizing that its adding up that she could be in foal  this would mean she would be around 7 months. She is well covered and a little round but she always is on the chunky side being a cob. She's 4 yrs old. Decided to give her till the end of the month and if still no season that vet will scan.
Crikey i am 8 weeks pregnant myself and could do without a foal!!
Any tell tale signs what to look for in a 7 month pregnant mare?!
Hoping she won't be and its just my bad memory regarding her seasons!!

Would she be looking a little bigger, and starting to show signs of teats filling up?

Get a blood test to make sure, I know how you feel, I was going to breed my LH weimraner, until I found out I was pregnant !! , so fingers crossed for you that she is not :)

Just checked her then - looked at her teats but TBH i don't really know what am looking for? they don't seem enlarged or anything - similar to my other mares.
Congrats mulled wine - how far along are you? :)

Assuming she's a maiden and not had a foal before, her teats wont necessarily swell much until she's a lot further along. I know it differs from mare to mare but none of my maiden TB's have started bagging up (getting swollen teat area) until very close to foaling. Same goes for the size of the foal-belly. If she's young and not been bred before she may not be very large at this stage. Sometimes you can see a foal move position from one side to another if you view from behind and if you place your hand against the mare's tummy and keep it there for a while (just infront of where her stifle is) you can sometimes be lucky enough to pick up a movement.

If she were mine though I'd be dying to have the test done to find out. But then again I'm terribly inpatient!!! Good luck whatever happens.

And congratulations on your own baby. :)

:o my baby is now 5,, and have still not found the time to breed, so have knocked it on the head :(

I wish you luck with your human baby, it is amazing ( although i never wanted one but got one non the less :) ) xxx
