i put my older horsebox on ebay the other week, had loads of interest but i couldnt answer a lot of the qestions and couldnt show someone it before the auction ended due to other commitments i had.
as it was a free listing weekend i relisted it, i had a REALLY cheeky offer of someone who i told a massive NO to, and i have someone who wants to come a view it later today! Yikes!
They are bringing a mechanic with them but TBH, i'm a bit

that they might try it on to get it cheaper or something.
I dont need the money from it, so would rather let it sit there than be taken for a ride but mmm, maybe i could put the money towards getting my other one resprayed.

I'm sat here pooping my pants! I LOVE my little old box and i feel its like selling a horse or something - i only want it to go to a good home lol!

ETA - do i need to take any of the paperwork with me??? reciepts for work done, log book etc? they wont be taking it away today etc i wouldnt have thought - thats if they are interested!

I don't see the problem ..... I would almost certaintly be bringing a mechanic with me if I was to go and look at a lorry/horsebox .

If anything it shows they are interested and are genuine

If you have a price in your head then by all means stick to it

If the lorry is sound then you shouldn't have a bother selling it

Good luck and think of the nice new shiney respray you will have after hopefully selling this one

I would definitely want to see paperwork if I was viewing - in fact would be v suspicious if it wasn't there and would affect my offer (if I was going to make one) - tbh - on a private sale people will be inclined to offer a very silly low amount to see if you are despearate to sell - if they do that say no - if they're keen they'll ring back.

i'm glad hes bringing a mechanic - but they are coming in the dark!!!

i tried to get them to come in daylight on friday but they wanted today, apparently they have a big work light they will be bringing....

Price wise, i am pretty clueless on! I bought it at the right time - ie when 3.5 tonners were not in demand! I've had it 6 years now.
i just really worry they will try it on and make out loads in wrong with it as it is currently off the road.

fingers crossed my hubby should get there in time to see them, if he doesnt make it i've arranged for my mum to also be there as it might be otherwise a bit dodgy.... 2 men meeting me in the dark!

if you find that they are "trying it on" suggest to them that you will get your mechanic to check it over .

See what they say then .

Do obviously make sure someone is there with you

We bought a jeep in the dark

My hubbie is a mechanic and he brought his torch with him .

They are obviously interested and possibly don't want to miss out on the sale .

If they want it and like it then yeah they might take it today!

What's it worth? What is it advertised for? Most people understand they will drop a little, depending on price, so if it's advertised for £5000 they may knock a few hundred off, whereas something at £500 maybe only £50 that kinda thing?

Think how much you paid, how long have you had it? What work needs doing and basically what you'd be happy with?

Have a look at similar ones and gauge it from that?!

Good luck, we've had people come in the dark to look at cars, hardly surprising in the winter, it's dark at 4pm these days, plus they may not want to miss a sale!

It's like most things people want to make sure the vehicle is genuine and that you're also genuine (sorry not saying your not). So any bills, invoices and MOT all adds to vehicles history and your history with vehicle.
As they are bring a mechanic they will be fine, if you don't know much about engines/maintainance of horseboxes DON'T be blinded with science, as they may be using this to reduce price..........

Defo have price in mind what you really want for box and don't be bullied into going lower........ As selling before christmas market is depressed and will pick up after festive season.

good luck

Well, i've looked up the same reg, style etc online and came across about 7 in the end, most between £2200 and £3950, so i think my price for it not on the road is pretty acceptable.
i think i'll cry when/if it goes!
